The Role of Nucleon Structure in Finite Nuclei

چکیده
The quark-meson coupling model, based on a mean field description of nonoverlapping nucleon bags bound by the self-consistent exchange of σ, ω and ρ mesons, is extended to investigate the properties of finite nuclei. Using the BornOppenheimer approximation to describe the interacting quark-meson system, we derive the effective equation of motion for the nucleon, as well as the self-consistent equations for the meson mean fields. The model is first applied to nuclear matter, after which we show some initial results for finite nuclei.

In this paper, we calculate nuclear structure function and EMC effect of 40Ca and 56Fe nuclei. To achive the goals, we consider Fermi motion and binding energy contrbiution in the harmonic oscillator model. In this model, harmonic oscillator parameter ħω related to shells root mean square radius and for free nucleon structure functions, is obtained from GRV’s free nucleon structure functions. ...
متن کاملPairing in nuclear systems: from neutron stars to finite nuclei
We discuss several pairing-related phenomena in nuclear systems, ranging from superfluidity in neutron stars to the gradual breaking of pairs in finite nuclei. We focus on the links between many-body pairing as it evolves from the underlying nucleon-nucleon interaction and the eventual experimental and theoretical manifestations of superfluidity in infinite nuclear matter and of pairing in fini...

We calculate electromagnetic form factors of the proton bound in specified orbits for several closed shell nuclei. The quark structure of the nucleon and the shell structure of the finite nuclei are given by the QMC model. We find that orbital electromagnetic form factors of the bound nucleon deviate significantly from those of the free nucleon. PACS: 13.40.Gp, 12.39.Ba, 21.65+f Typeset using R...
متن کاملQuark mean field model for nuclear matter and finite nuclei
We study nuclear matter and finite nuclei in terms of the quark mean field (QMF) model, in which we describe the nucleon using the constituent quark model. The meson mean fields, in particular the σ meson, created by other nucleons act on quarks inside a nucleon and change the nucleon properties in nuclear medium. The QMF model predicts an increasing size of the nucleon as well as a reduction o...

We start with the discussion of the recent ab initio variational calculations of light nuclei up to the mass number A ≤ 10 of the Argonne-Illinois group [1]. They take the two nucleon interaction obtained from the scattering data and add the three body interaction so as to reproduce the binding energies of the three nucleon systems. They reproduce very nicely the light nuclei including the exci...
